my friend Ian bought that game for his sister last year and he himself started playing it recently anyway I was over at his place when he was playing it and Edna was dead when she was kissed by Lady anyway the power seams to be controlled by the ones using it's desire.
from what I saw Lady seems kinda innocent for the whole "doesn't have to get her own hands dirty" thing but I can't say for sure
also death or near death might be a requirement for receiving that power because Killer seemed to have some pretty bad gunshot wounds when he got it and I don't even know if the manifestation was the same.
