Ugh... This show. In an effort to avoid the legal backlash that would erupt due to vampires feasting upon the carotid artery, the possibility of having kisses serve as a replacement was brought up. The vampire tomato agreed to the change and, well... just watch the clip.

A similar scenario (i.e. a town full of "ghouls" kissing people to increase there numbers) was used in the excellent Elite Beat Agents for the Nintendo DS. It was just as ridiculous there as it is here, but at least the game itself is fun.
